Goals!
It's been two days since I've been back from the Dominican Republic and I'm well into transitioning to preparing for final trials. There are so many things that I know I need to be successful: solid sleep, avoiding overtraining, fueling my body well, relationships with God and others, etc. The list goes on and on. One of the biggest lessons I'm learning is the value of gradual change. Aiming to do all of these things well is unrealistic but if I can focus on one thing every week, I can do it. I'm learning to give myself the space to be able to learn and grow into this position of potentially being on the national team rather than demanding that I am that person right now at this second. Picking just one thing is difficult but this week, I'll focus on having a consistant routine with God. I'd love to start with some quiet time before digging into the chaos of the world. It may seem irrelavent to my game play, but there are times in a game when play is moving so quickly and I have to hold my own. Sometimes life can feel like that for me. Life moves so quickly that sometimes I forget to do what's really important.
